I have been trying to get my old nvidia Quadro2 Pro working in 4.0 cooking without success.
From http://www.nvidia.com/object/IO_32667.html
I need the legacy 71.86.xx driver so I downloaded that and compiled it. Now startx fails with:
[c]dlopen: /usr/lib/X11/modules/drivers/nvidia_drv.so: undefined symbol: miTranslateRegion[/c]
Am I missing something or are these drivers not supported any more in 4.0? I know the card is quite old but it would seem a shame if that is the case.

After some more searching it looks like this is an issue with the nvidia non-free legacy drivers and is not going to be fixed:
http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3142
I must add that I have no trouble running X on this card using the open source "nv" driver, but chances of using any of the older NVidia cards in the way they were intended appear slim.
