I Want To Start Gnome

I Installed Slitaz, Installed All Of The Gnome Related Packages, And Now I Want To Have The Gnome Desktop Manager Start Instead Of Slim, Or For Slim To Start The Gnome Desktop For Me Instead Of Openbox, How Do I Go About Doing This? Thanks In Advance

Re: I Want To Start Gnome

Not sure if it will work, but try this: at the login screen press F1 until gnome appears. F1 is the key to press at the slim login manager to select the desired DE.

If gnome doesn't appear as an option, you'll have to modify a couple of text files. One of them is .xinitrc, the other I don't remember, but you can find all the information you need in the Slitaz documentation. Remember that that is the first place to go when you need informations.

Re: I Want To Start Gnome

Gnome-session is normally used to start gnome but it's not in the repo.

Maybe some of this info will help:

http://openbox.org/wiki/Help:Getting_started

Starting Openbox without the graphical log in

This runs a GNOME session with Openbox as the window manager, which is like selecting "GNOME/Openbox" from the graphical log in.
