Network Status Monitor - Panel

where can I find step-by-step info on how to:

#1 add menu items to the pull down?

   a) disconnect (which calls /etc/init.d/network.sh stop)

   b) connect (which calls /etc/init.d/network.sh start)

#2 via shell scrip, change Interface to monitor from eth1 to wlan0?
