I did a 'writeiso' on a Netbook with an external CD burner because the Desktop on which the cd was going to be used is not capable of writing to CD.
It works perfectly with all the introduced changes.....but I want to add a few things and this where my problem becomes apparent. The CD won't reboot on the Netbook so that I can make the changes .
It is as if I need to add a rootdelay=10 or something to make up for the USB connection.......does anybody know how to sort this problem, please?????

Access the netbooks bios menu. Go to boot devices, look for usb-cdrom as a boot device.

I wish, but thanks for the suggestion Mojo, that has been done.
I should have pointed out that I have done the bios thing and, in fact, the netbook is a eeePC700 and has a function to select the 'boot-target' on start-up.
I have also tried various types of CDs.....RWs & Rs.

.........work around by installing Slitaz to removable SSD, make this my work-bench for modifications and things ultimately burn iso CD from SSD.......SSD boots via Grub.
