Wi-Fi Not Working! Somebody please Help!

Hi Everybody,

I have Slitaz 4.0 Live in my Pen Drive. I liked It's User Interface and everything else except that Wi-Fi Does not work. How can I get it to work? & I have A WPA network to connect to. Many other lightweight Linuxes have the same problem. For Example: DSL. And very few heavy distros too. For Example: EduBOSS.

Somebody Please Help me.

Thanks

Configuring wifi on linux

[1]Identify the wifi adapter chipset.

Open terminal, type the command applicable to the adapter form factor, hit Enter:

For Built-in wireless(pci,mini-pci),32-bit pc card(pcmcia,cardbus,expresscard)

[c]lspci -nn[/c]

For USB wireless adapter

[c]lsusb[/c]

Post the complete output in your reply.

But I can't see the SSIDs too. And It works well in Puppy Linux, Ubuntu, and Windows 7.

Mojo's post @ http://forum.slitaz.org/topic/cannot-connect-to-wireless-networks#post-15309 is probably your best bet. Failing that, rather use something you know works like Puppy Linux or Ubuntu.

Re: Wi-Fi Not Working! Somebody please Help!

Slitaz wouldn't detect my wireless card either. This is how I solved it:

The laptop dualbooted between slitaz and arch linux. I booted to arch and grabbed all the firmware-iwlwifi* packages and downloaded them to my home folder. Then I booted slitaz again, installed the packages and the wireless interface was working.

You can get the files from the packages repository:

http://mirror.slitaz.org/packages/4.0/
