why vlc show gray videos ?

i use laptop with slitaz cooking

i also tested in other pc but the same problem

any solution ?

Hi, the same for me... in cooking version

in dell latitude 800 mhz 512 mo/ram

i have no test really video direct like .avi etc...

just a *.m3U

and in first test...all video was slim and all green...and in scrrenfull...all block.

so i have install good driver for my laptop reconfigure X

and now fonction "well" in little CPU start fire ... but in fullscreen , it is very very slow...slow slow

and the CPU burn really!! and all other action is difficult to do  and somethime i can not retake control of my laptop ..and it is necessary to  send a kill signal ( PKILL VLC)

so..me too..i would like to know if i can do something special

i found smplayer work fine

but vlc is my favorite player

Launch your video from the commandline and get us the error message.

It might also help if you provide a little more information, like which type of video file your trying to run. Is it wmv, mpg, avi, etc?

I noticed this vlc problem in official cooking before. I don't know what caused it but i fixed it by recompiling slitaz in the right cook order that old tazwok code does. I sadly can't provide package cause i'm alot more up dated then slitaz is now.
