dumb question re: multi-core

Hi all, apologies for my dumbness, I just couldn't see an answer anywhere that explicitly answers this question.  I'm sure the answer is going to be a resounding "yes!" but I just wanted to be sure.....does Slitaz take full advantage of all the cores available on a multi-core cpu?

Thanks....and please try not to hate me for my stupidity!

Re: dumb question re: multi-core

Yes and no. The Kernel is compiled with the support, but most of the software doesn't always use more than one of the cores.

Re: dumb question re: multi-core

I guess the same.

When i upgraded my PC i was wondering if a 2 cores or a 4 cores would be a good idea.

2 cores is enough as i rarely exhaust the power of both cores.
