It took me quite a while, to find out, how in AV-Linux the LXDE plugin to select the CPUs frequency works - its not the LXDE cpufreq plugin, its Trayfreq

to make a tazpkg, you have to use tazwok

yup, i edited the post after i ve made the tazpkg package. Because trayfreq have only a couple of files i made the package "by hand" (german saying) ... thx for the hint about tazwok. But i am not shure ... can i configure/make/make install a cource code direct to a tazpkg??
About trayfreq:... its just under development ... and it seems it is a little bit bugy. The icon switching dont work well if i change the governor or the battery change from charging to discharge ...

I installed your trayfreq tazpkg

but it seems not to work
I have no /usr/bin/trayfreq, no no /usr/sbin/trayfreq, no /usr/share/trayfreq
her is a libacpi tazpkg - you could try
also not possible to upload tazpkgs...

in the 0.1.6.3 version the binarys are in /usr/bin/ but in the 0.2.x version trayfreq stores the binary in /usr/local/bin and /usr/local/share/trayfreq
I have already tried out it with a libacpi.so ... well, i don't know if this lib file are the right on, i grabbed them from another distro ... but i couldn't determine a difference...

ok ... i've compiled trayfreq again with other permissions and also now the binary is in /usr/bin/
It seems to work now, but trayfreq need to run as root.
I've installed sudo and made a entry in the /etc/sudoers file:
root ALL=(ALL) ALL
michael ALL= (root)NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/trayfreq
So it is possible to launch trayfreq as root in the autostart.sh without using a password:
# Start TrayFrequence
sudo trayfreq &

very interesting util, thank you guys very much for this. i thought, my lifebook does change the freq automaticly when set in bios? but it doesn't.
after installing this quite nice utility, slitaz does it well ;-)
how can i modify the cpufreq icon to get these nice icons to see when add cpufreq frontened to the panel to get this utility as an applet and not as a tray?
another question: how to modify the battery monitor to get diff. battery icons showed instead of the very dark barkgraph?

you're welcome ...to get displayed the battery-icon also the cpu-icon, you have to add a notificationspanel (System Tray) in lxpanel and then you can remove the battery monitor also the cpufreq frontend.
Hmmmm i think it is not possible to let cpufreq-frontend show the trayfreq icons. But maybe kultex knows much more about such things ...

I have to dissppoint you, but I have no experience with trayfreq and as trayfreq tells its tray and not an applet.
an as you describe, that you thought, that your notebook does change the freq automaticly when set in bios, thats the reality for most SliTaz users.
No - you just enable the OS, that the freqency can be scaled.
But most distributions are doing this now - the default governer is in almost all distributions ondemand. I think, its really necessary, that it will be included in 5.0
