Free CAD program

It's just informational

If someone is looking for a 2D CAD application I can suggest one which is working quite well

[c]http://www.3ds.com/products/draftsight/download-draftsight/[/c]

Linux version is still beta, you need to convert .deb or .rpm package, additionaly download "nas-1.9.2-2-i686.pkg.tar.xz" and extract the following files in the /usr/lib directory:

libaudio.a

libaudio.so

libaudio.so.2

libaudio.so.2.4

The rest of dependencies are installed automatically from our repository

I was able to download and run the application without sending any personal data, but they say activation is required

If you know any alternatives to this one, or 3D applications please post information here

Re: Free CAD program

I've downloaded and converted from ubuntu repository:

[c]librecad_1.0.2+nolibs-1build1_i386
librecad-data_1.0.2+nolibs-1build1_all
libdxflib-2.2.0.0_2.2.0.0-8_i386
libmuparser-dev_2.1.0-3_i386[/c]
unfortunately still missing [c]libmuparser.so.2[/c] - please advice how to make it running

Re: Free CAD program

Hi tazpider

Tried this

download from source and compile libmuparser

http://www.openmamba.org/distribution/distromatic.html?tag=devel-contrib-java&pkg=libmuparser.source

or downloads the packages compiled directly

Re: Free CAD program

Thank you for the package gibor,

Now it started working, but each time I want to input coordinates manually I get error:

[c]librecad: symbol lookup error: librecad: undefined symbol: _ZNK2mu10ParserBase4EvalEv[/c]

and it shuts down

Do you have the same issue?

Re: Free CAD program

Hi

I did work 25 y. for a German firm beeing at the absolutely top of his job. The did use all the time Medusa as well as a great among of top German firms and did refuse to pay any licence to autoCAD! CAD-Schroer offers also on line the cost free conversion of autoCAD doc and it is possible to manage the autoCAD docs with OpenOffice depending of the format used to save them! So you can have an unlimited use on Medusa if you prepare correctly your job and it is really an highest quality system coming from the middle size computer from DEC and not from the PC world! Years along, it was not possible to port Medusa on PC because of the smal power from PC!

But if you doesn't process extrem powerfull things, you can do really a lot with OO or LO Draw, and send it to users of autoCAD !!! Ah ah ah!
