Is this something I have to be concerned???

I have a laptop with 1.5ghz processor. I have linux mint LXDE installed on it and with conky running. I noticed the CPU meter stays at 600MHz then from time to time jumps to 1.5GHz when needed.

Now, the same pc with Slitaz cooking it just stays at 600MHz. I've never seen it work at full speed. Is this a problem or SliTaz is just really that good? I'm doing the same thing that makes it work harder when booted using Linux Mint.

Well... not really. SliTaz doesn't come with CPU stepping support, so you either run at full speed or minimum all the time. There however is a work around for this and it's described @ http://vanilla.slitaz.org/index.php?p=/discussion/2472 and http://vanilla.slitaz.org/index.php?p=/discussion/comment/8300#Comment_8300
