Thanks for Slitaz & how to autologin GUI as root, how to convert etc?

Hello everyone

First of all i like to thank everyone who created and made Slitaz.

I installed Slitaz on my harddrive. And my questions is:

1. How to autologin GUI as root?

(Thanks for the reminders about safety, I know.

The answer to this question needed to achieve specific task on the experimental computer only).

2. How to convert *.deb to *.tazpkg (for example localepurge.deb, gxneur.deb)?

Or how to install *.deb's or *.tar.gz in Slitaz?

3. Why not of all LXDE's parts / applets are available as *.tazpkg? (for example, networkmanager-applet,applet that shows the level of use of memory?). How to get them?

1) http://forum.slitaz.org/search.php?q=autologin

2) http://hg.slitaz.org/tazpkg/raw-file/tip/doc/tazpkg.en.html - convert

3) why don't you try slitaz's tool first? :-)

ernia, thank you.

1) I badly understand English, I write through the translator. Sorry. If you write 5 words - I understand. The link given by you, I read 500 words and could not understand: How_to_autologin_GUI_as_root? In 5 words, please.

2) I'll study and try. Tnx.

3) I'm ready. Which slitaz's tool shows the level of use of memory?

Hello

In /etc/slim.conf just add

default_user        root

auto_login        yes

save, reboot if it's your choice.

Re: Thanks for Slitaz & how to autologin GUI as root, how to convert etc?

1. [c]# leafpad /etc/slim.conf[/c]

    [c]default_user    root[/c]

    [c]auto_login      yes[/c]

Works on a full install of cooking.

2. [c]tazpkg convert localepurge.deb[/c]

Alway start converted programs in terminal.

Missing or different named depends, libraries, wrong version glibc is a common problem.

3. You will have to compile/install or convert unavailable software if no one will package it for you.

Hi

Interesting question! What has to be, in his opinion, «auto»login?

What does that autologin?

(I ask because I always have a old software for a telephon answerer system that would be completely sad to meet an slim on his way to the application: That software wakes the computer being shuted down but staying connected with the eletricity, starts the OS, Microsoft-Windows of course, and can start actions depending of the telephon keys or vocal message send in the far place by the other telephon! Is that what serg wants? Is that possible in Slitaz?)

Completely besides the point. He just wants to have his system log in automatically without asking his password at boot. He's also not a native English speaker, so all your doing is confusing him, oui.
