Login failed to load

Posted from my phone so please forgive spelling and grammar,

when I set the home= boot option to the uuid of the usb or to sdb1(which is how it appears in dev) the boot fails to login, when i remove the home option it boots fine, why is this happening?

is your home in an ext filesystem?

it should.
