VLC and encrypted DVD

Hi everybody

I'v a DVD which is not readable neither with vlc nor with mplayer even with libdvdcss, libdvdread ; the other DVDs are working fine.

After installation of gst-* and xine, xine-lib, xine-ui, I eventually succeeded to watch my DVD.

But I don't understand why vlc fails :

$vlc /dev/dvd

returns

VLC could not read the file

With many thanks : Slitaz is really fantastic.

Re: VLC and encrypted DVD

Could be a new type of encription that I just read about the other day.

(VLC & Mplayer could be using older libs.)

Try reading /dev/cdrom - yes I realize the irony in that

Re: VLC and encrypted DVD

Hello

mplayer /dev/cdrom  returns

no suitable decoder module for fourcc `undf'. VLC probably does not support this sound or video format

like mplayer /dev/dvd

It seems to me that is as normal as possible for /dev/cdrom and /dev/dvd are two symlinks to /dev/hdc

Really it's a very little issue : one DVD among more than one hundred : after reading this dvd

#tazpkg remove xine-ui
