Monitor-resolution can't be saved

Hello, i run an installed slitaz 4 system. how can i find out, which version i use? i wanted to load down 4.0, but in the boot menue it's named as "cooked". is there a shell command to find out?

My question: How can i save the monitor resolution settings? Maximum resolution is 1280x768, after saving it the resolution settings change after every boot. Now 1280x768 is saved, but when i  open a window, it does not fit in the sreen, on the right side of the window it "disapears", i can't see the buttons in the right corner. Maybe the resoultion is been shown wrong? 1280x768 is been shown, but an aother reolution is installed? (Is installed the reight word? I mean, that an other resution works then it is displayed to me) 

How can i manage this problem?

In a terminal, uname -a will show what kernel you're running, so maybe you can work it out from that.

1280x768 seems an odd resolution to me, perhaps try it at 1024x768 (?).

In a terminal $cat /etc/slitaz-release will show you the version of Slitaz.

Have you tried the command #tazx to setup the resolution of your screen ?

Hello, sorry for the "delay", now i'm back an willed to solve the problem. I'm newtaz, forgot my password. To be honest, i had panic to use the terminal. But now im grown up and i want to make a new friend named Sakura.

General i want to learn more about Linux - i'm also in Debian now, testing the konsole. And - you won't believe it -i have a fight with the resolution, what else.... So i see it as a chance to learn more about Linux.

Here is what Sakura told me:

Linux slitaz 2.6.37-slitaz #2 SMP Thu May 16 19:27:13 CEST 2013 i686 GNU/Linux

Version 4.

I tried tazx, but i only have the chance to change the driver. Or are there other options?

Before trying change the files of /etc/X11 make a backup of these ones.
