Wierd VLC 1.1.13 playback on SliTaz 4.0

Hi,

I'm using SliTaz 4.0 on VirtualBox, and have installed the GuestAddon per instruction from:

http://forum.slitaz.org/topic/installing-virtualbox-guest-additions-in-slitaz-40-target#post-10055

Further more, glxinfo returns Chromium direct rendering.

However, when I try to playback video (flv, mp4) with VLC, I got only half-sized greyscale video, like this

which even a slightest resize will turn it to garbage, like this

How can I fix the issue?

Re: Wierd VLC 1.1.13 playback on SliTaz 4.0

If memory serves, this happens when the quality of the video exceeds the ability of the renderer to render it. So it drops it to low quality rendering and this is what happens. To fix it, the VLC needs to be rebuilt to force high quality rendering and use the x264 codec correctly.

For now it should work better in Mplayer with the mplayer codecs package installed.
