Re: Kernel-Config-Discussion

Hi Arun,

yes in the 3.2.40-new.txt the ide issue is fixed - discussion about that is mainly here:

http://forum.slitaz.org/topic/notes-to-new-cooking/page/8 - this is the important link:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=694782

you can ignore the errors on Orphan module - and the errors on "cant open .... linux64"

you cant post txt files, thats a bug of the forum software - can you send the log file on  the mailing list and I will put it here...

Re: Kernel-Config-Discussion

Hi Arun

log is attached now - that looks good - only linu64 errors  - no

cat: can't open '/home/slitaz/wok/linux-acpi errors

now you should be able to run:

"for i in $(grep 'WANTED="linux"' */receipt | grep -v 64 | cut -d \/ -f 1); do cooker pkg $i; done"

run the command from the wok directory.

you should find all the necessary linux-packages.

the best would be now to make an iso with the new kernel using tazlito and put it online with something like www.box.com or just all the linux-xxx.tazpkgs - so I and others can test....

Re: Kernel-Config-Discussion

thx kapil and arun,

I have downloaded both and will try to make an iso as soon as possible - it can take a while - too much work at the moment

upload the log of 3.2.40 now, because it did not work last time

Re: Kernel-Config-Discussion

Hi Arun and Kapil,

I have done isos from both kernels and sorry, I cannot upload, because all the cloud services are blocked where I am working.

And on both isos I get when I run "zcat /proc/config.gz" and I find

# CONFIG_IDE=y

so it is the same as I it is now in rolling - but it must be

# CONFIG_IDE is not set

sorry - I think it was my fault - in the attached file linux.slitaz.config.txt the config for ide is correct - 3.2.40-new.txt was one of my first tests....

it just comes when you answer just in between hundred things to do

Re: Kernel-Config-Discussion

Hi Tom,

Anyway, here goes the package for 3.2.50 I have compiled:

https://app.box.com/s/jo2jeiqq86vypub3b8d7

It has the modified config, log, packages and the modified patch in it. Check it out.

(I missed the above sample config from you. Somehow I am not receiving the notifications though I have subscribed.)

Re: Kernel-Config-Discussion

I am revisiting the config options by comparing with those from the Porteus config file... so please discard the above package. I will upload the new set of packages in 1 or 2 days.
