home=usb, persistence

I discovered this distro few days ago and fell in love immediately.

Normally I run Lubuntu live-usb with persistence. I find it sluggish, I like the idea of system running in RAM.

I tried damn smal linux, knoppix and tinycore.

I used slitaz-rolling.iso to create live-usb (8GB ext3 formatted).

I can't mount usb as /home.

I read documentation but it's still unclear for me.

I tried to boot:

slitaz home=usb, home=sda, home=sda1

Do I need another usb drive for this? or partition 8GB?

Would it be possible to use hard drive (hda) as /home?

Another question:  will mounting /home on usb pendrive allow to keep installed programs (google-chrome)?

you can use home=uuid or home=/dev/sda3

and of course yoo can use internal hard disk

OK I got something:

I was booting from CD and tried to set /dev/sda1 and /dev/hda2 as /home.

It works with slitaz-4.0 BUT NOT with slitaz-rolling (2013-03-23).

sda1 = ext3

hda2 = ext4

The device '/dev/hda2' doesn't seem to have a valid NTFS.

Maybe the wrong device is used? Or the whole disk instead of a

partition (e.g. /dev/sda, not /dev/sda1)? Or the other way around?

mount: mounting /dev/hda2 on /home failed: No such file or directory

it is rolling (developement!!!) and it is maybe related to the kernel issue

I try to make new kernel, but still have problems with cook environment

well I use debian 'testing' for everyday use which is rolling release too, but I think slitaz-rolling is comparible to dabian 'unstable'

I'm running currently slitaz4core, I'm learning it.

I will switch to rolling sooner or later as I find 4.0 very outdated.

It comes from april 2012 but feels like 2010 :-(
