how do I change to linux libre?

I installed linux-libre copied the vmlinuz-2.6.37-libre-slitaz from /boot to the /boot from the hd made a new rootfs.gz and added this lines to menu.lst:

title  SliTaz-libre

       root(hd0,0)

       kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.37-libre-slitaz root=/dev/hda1 vga=normal

and I get kernel-panic

don't I need also a new bzImage?
