I love SliTaz and use it as my main network toolbox by PXE booting my customized version. The tiny and efficient OS is just amazing.
I also PXE boot Clonezilla live for disk and partition imaging but that requires to boot the not as tiny Clonezilla live image (debian). I would love to have the Clonezilla scripts run directly from SliTaz. Before I attempt to "reinvent the wheel" I thought I would ask here if anyone has attempted this yet? Either with success or not? My searching of forums and Google shows nothing for this topic. I can't be the first to desire this functionality 
So my question is this. . ., has anyone had experience running, or attempting to run clonezilla from a SliTaz underlying OS? Your results/comments would be greatly appreciated.

I started working on a liveCD dedicated for repair pc based on SliTaz.
I think I get back after my exams, infact last iso date to March 2011 .
It contained Partimage (the one used by Clonezilla ^^), Memtest, and other tools.
My goal is to create a livecd all-in-one for assistance.

Hello shann, yes we are doing very similar things with SliTaz and it is just great for this use. I too have partimage, dd, ddrescue, etc. and many other maintenance and repair tools running on SliTaz but I really do like all the Clonezilla scripts that take care of many checks and command line options for partimage or partclone or dd whichever you have Clonezilla configured to use. I normally use the partclone methods. My question here is not how to make images or what tools to use for rescue (although those are good subjects for another discussion). My question is specifically concerning Clonezilla running on SliTaz. I just do not want to spend time trying to make it work before I ask if someone has already tried.

For your question, i don't create or adapt clonezilla for SliTaz.
Now, i have time for work on my livecd.
if you want we can work together to bring clonezilla to SliTaz ?

I hope the exam went very well for you.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to devote much attention to this for at least a few weeks due to family medical situation. I would still love to have the Clonezilla functionality running on the small, efficient SliTaz OS. If you have some time now here are a couple of links to get ideas. Clonezilla is basically a set of scripts available mostly here http://free.nchc.org.tw/drbl-core/src/stable/ I think that is the starting point. Put those scripts on SliTaz system and then test, modify, add packages, configure, etc. until it works. I am not interested much in the "server edition" of Clonezilla at this time for my needs but primarily in a SliTaz version of "Clonezilla live". Overall it went well, although there are difficulties in certain subjects.
