Dell M1330 wireless

I have been using linux for years now and my hardware is showing its age even when using Ubuntu with GNOME and compiz off. I have tried Slitaz before but there was no support for my wireless card.  With the newest cooking version I can see that my card is recognized, but I can not see any wireless networks. So I am clueless at this point, but I am really hoping to get this working.
