Help：how to enlarge the number of open files

slitaz default open file number is 1024,but i need more,

so(1) i add "ulimit -n 20480" to /etc/rc.local and then reboot the system,it doesn't work;

  (2)modify /usr/include/bits/typesizes.h :#define _FD_SETSIZE_ 20480,it also doesn't work.

   who knows how to set it,ths

Why do you need more? Give a real world situation where this would be essential.

TKS for your attention, our program use tcp/ip heart message to Dual-redundant，so we run our program in few minutes then error message: too many open files,program ruins.

if any person encounters such problems and has any solutions ,pls help me ,TKS
