I like Goldendict dictionary look up application. I can not see it among packages. Who do I need to ask to make a package?
Anyway, I am new here, and I know nothing about package policy here. I came from Ubuntu world which disposes thousands of packages. How does it works here? What is not in repo, I must compile from sources?

Hi, sometimes its not necessary to compile the source, you can try converting the .debs. The command to convert is "tazpkg convert name.deb", and then, as root, you can install it with "tazpkg install name.tazpkg". It worked for me with WinFF, for example.

I agree, because Stardict isn't a very good shaped application (bad interface, poor dictionnaries management ...)
I've just installed Goldendict, from Debian repositories.
1- go to Debian Repositorie, and donwload the i386 version (bottom of this page) :https://packages.debian.org/wheezy/goldendict
2- under Slitaz
open a terminal where you've donwloaded the Debian package, type :
tazpkg convert [file name with .DEB extension]
3- install the new tazpkg :
sudo tazpkg install [file name with tazpkg extension]
That's all !
But now you have to find dictionnaries ;-)Posted 7 years ago # -
I've noticed that Goldendict is, now, in repositories. Thanks to the mainteners !
