I have several midi files that I would like to play on SliTaz Linux 4.
In a terminal, I issued the command "timidity myfile.mid".
Timidity starts up, appears to initialize instruments, and then goes quiet.
If anyone has gotten midi files to play audible music on SliTaz 4, then please speak up.
Please reveal the secrets to playing midi files on SliTaz Linux 4.
Thank you,
Rick
How do I get timidity (TiMidity++) working on SliTaz Linux 4.

Timidity needs freepats sound fonts. It's not auto installed as Depends because it's a 24MB download.
# tazpkg install

Thanks mojo.
The link that you provided to the freepats sound fonts tazpkg file did the trick.
Now I can listen to old midi files like James_Bond_007.mid, buffy.mid, etc., etc.
Thanks again,
