slitaz (gnu/linux) 3.0
firefox (or any other) lässt sich nicht herunterladen
midori bietet mir an, seine einstellungen zu ändern
aber ich weiß nicht worauf ...Posted 8 years ago # -
Yes, firefox (Shiretoko) is in the repo. To install it, in Xterm as root:
tazpkg get-install firefox
I tested it quickly and it seems still working. But it's an old version (3.5.7), you probably meet some troubles with it too. And I guess it is not very safe to use...Why do you use SliTaz 3.0? It is two years older than SliTaz 4.0.
Is it because of your computer? What type of processor? How many MB RAM?Posted 8 years ago # -
thank you, ceel.
for the moment, let me answer your last question only.
i have this version of litaz on a cd, i'd rather use a better/newer one if i knew where to get it from.
my ram is low (700MB)Posted 8 years ago # -
Whaoo! 700MB, you make me dream!
I run SliTaz 4.0 with 512MB (and a 1GB swap) and SliTaz 5.0 with... 256MB and 400MB swap.Well, no need to have a CD, you can use a USB to create a Live; see http://doc.slitaz.org/en:guides:liveusb (the german version is really too old and need a serious update).
Run SliTaz 3.0 from your live CD and follow the instructions of te section From Slitaz linux; use the Rolling ISO (link in my first post).Posted 8 years ago # -

You can use GParted for this: click on the red spider button in the lower left corner of the screen and select System Tools > GParted.
Yes, I understand your problem at boot. I forgot SliTaz 3.0 use syslinux 3.82 but SliTaz 5.0 needs the 4.06 release :-/
will web-boot do?
I don't remember the LiveCD 3.0 allows to boot from web but if yes, that's a good idea.
Then start the Rolling and create your LiveUSB.
If it's not possible, maybe the simplest way will be to create it from Windows first.Posted 8 years ago # -

Welcome to Linux!
"Unfotunatly", I left Urbuntu 5 years ago; for your issues, you'll find an appropriate support on the Ubuntu's forum.
