Whenever I boot my Dell Latitude CPXH laptop with the battery in, LX panel will not load, It givesme a floating point error, I have to boot up the unit and slide in the battery after I boot. Also, if I keep the unit on long enough Lx panel stops working. This also happened on slitaz 3.0, but it is getting very frustrating. Any ideaS?

this is a very interesting bug, i doubt to be able to solve it but i'd like to try :-)
would you post the output of
dmesg
and
lsmod
while booting with battery in?
i would like to see the the exact lx panel error text too.Posted 12 years ago # -
Hi VERAULT,
It's very strange, but you not the first on this forum with this error. I was asked some months ago, but can't find it yet.
In short words, lxpanel battery applet is incompatible with your hardware. It's weird, I know. And this applet crushed whole lxpanel.
You need to remove it. If you can, do it with your mouse. If not, edit your config file.
See this: http://hg.slitaz.org/slitaz-configs/file/0dfc40410c31/rootfs/etc/lxpanel/slitaz/panels/panel
Lines 126-140 is battery applet, and you need to remove them.Where to find this config file? Sorry, I write now from smartphone and have no SliTaz near hands now. System wide config files you find in the /etc/lxpanel/slitaz/panels/panel folder, and your current lxpanel config - somewhere in your home folder, in .config subfolder and deeper. Maybe ~/.config/lxpanel/slitaz/panels.
You can start your lxpanel in terminal by command:
lxpanel -p slitaz &
and stop it by command:
killall lxpanelPosted 12 years ago # -
Ok here are the lsmod and dmesg outputs ernia.
Aleksej, so my only option is to remove the battery applet? I take it there are no other battery check applets that Slitaz can use? I'm virtually out of luck

I realize I started this post a few years ago, However I still get this error everytime I add the battery pack into my dell laptop. I have to run the laptop on ac power just to use lxpanel.
I posted the dmesg.txt, anyone else have an idea?
