I'm new to Slitaz and I'm having a problem finding packages that I've installed via "package manager".
I installed clamav & iptables but I can't access either of them.
I'm sure it is something simple. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks.

As root type 'iptables -L' from a terminal to get a current listing of iptable rules. If you want to modify the existing rules you would need to edit /etc/firewall.conf file. I do not use clamav hence cannot help you on that but I am sure there must be a way to configure setting using command line (if gui is not available).

I assume clamav is similar. You're supposed to run them from the terminal. Distros like Ubuntu would add a nice front-end (I think Clam's one is Clamtk) to simplify matters. SliTaz isn't that forgiving :P

In a terminal, type "clam" and hit the [TAB] key. That should list all available commands starting with clam. You can try running the various options listed (also with --help option). One of them (from what I vaguely remember) is the primary executable to check files/folders/volumes/etc.

@Gdesilva Thank you for the information! I was able to see a list of rules.
As far as ClamAV goes, I'm just looking for something to secure my computer...Any Suggestions?Posted 13 years ago # -
Erm... You don't need an Anti-Virus. Linux only has about 100 known viruses, of which 40 is active (most of which just infects Wine or Samba) and only a handful that can be dangerous if you give it root access. In short, Viruses are possible, but VERY unlikely. I've been using Linux on my PC for 5 years now and I browse even sites google warns me against. I haven't caught a virus yet (I've checked with ClamAV every so often). Most viruses are made for Windows anyway :P
There is also no such thing as adware or spyware for Linux. ClamAV is more to scan Windows partitions for Windows based viruses and clean them when found.

@Trixar_za
Ok, understood.
What about iptables? currently I only have 3 rules accepting output, established and related input and input to local host. Is this secure enough to surf? I use ebay alot.Posted 13 years ago # -
Hi, I found this thread on iptables to be very helpful, you might want to take a look if you need a very simple and highly secure firewall: http://vanilla.slitaz.org/discussion/1926/cooking-firewall/0/100/ which is very easy to set up, just by removing a few lines from the original script.
I have a question, where did you find the iptables package? I'm looking for the one for Slitaz 3.0 stable, and it does not seem to be available for download right now...

As to my previous question, never mind, I was able to download the package a few moments ago... :)
