In general, my internet on slitaz has been the best I've seen in terms of ease of connecting. One day I noticed I was haveing difficulty connecting to my network. wlan0 had switched to 2! Over the course of reboots and shutdowns, it would jump around. Eventually, it seems to have stuck at wlan2. After that I was no longer able to connect.
I went to /etc/udev/70-persistent-net-rules.rules, and changed all the NAME="whatever" to NAME="wlan0".
So far, wifi is working beautifully.

Thanks for this. Not meaning to pick faults in your post but for others benefit, 70-persistent-net.rules file resides in /etc/udev/rules.d directory.
