I have created my own distro with centerim, I can log into my ejabber server with no problem. When I go to change my im status, it sends a message saying that I only have less than 10k of memory left. Has anybody else seen this error? Does this seriously impact the usage of the application? I have checked the system logs and do not see anything being reported. I cannot find any centerim logs, if there are any. This happens on a live CD running in memory on a 512 mb or 1gb mb RAM. Unfortunately, I have committed to deliver this to customer and I am sitting at the customer site looking at this error with a sinking feeling. I would appreciate any help.

Why is centerim showing running out of memory error?

I have no clue how to fix this with ejabberd, but yeah, it's pretty resource hungry to begin with.
Personally I use Prosody IM, which is a pretty good Lua written XMPP (jabber) server that works out of the box, with my own Debian box. It's one of the few implementation that is just works and setup is pretty much a breeze. Better yet, the language its written in is easy to learn, so writing a plugin is for it isn't really that hard. To get it to work with SliTaz might take a little work because of the dependencies it needs (http://prosody.im/doc/depends), but it's pretty straight forward if the debian packages are converted over one by one using tazpkg convert and the Prosody people supply the majority of the requirements in a ready made deb packages.
I'll see if I can do it tomorrow when I have some time on my hands.

Thank for the suggestion. I am out of the country in a rural customer site performing the actual installation of SliTaz with poor internet access. I will follow up with your suggestion next week and see if I can create a SliTaz package. Thank you for your help. Happy New Year.
