When I go to my wireless manager, I can see all the info, IP, DNS, etc...and it says connected to an unsecured network. What could possibly be wrong?

Do you get reply when you ping the WAP/routers gateway LAN i.p. address ?
This is the same i.p. address you type in the address bar of a web browser to access the WAP/routers admin panel.Posted 13 years ago # -
Yes, wireless manager a is little buggy sometime displaying the status. I have the same problem. Also when you try to clear the screen or stop the connection to see if the "connected" display goes away, it doesn't do it. There have been occasions when the wireless icon that it is display at the desktop shows that there is no connection,(the icon show an X), but you do have a connection and things are working fine. Most of the time it display the information correctly but sometimes it doesn't (????).
I will also say that is one of the few programs that doesn't run fast in Slitaz. I think I just update it. I will be alert to see if still behaving this way.Posted 13 years ago # -
I have the same problem. It says it is connected to eth0. I can see the lines moving at the bottom, but Midori won't connect to the internet. The laptop's wireless is blinking, so I tried wireless too. I gave the WPA password, and the wireless is connected, but Midori can't connect. Tazpkg also can't connect. Ping says there is no such browser (www.google.com) Is there a way to connect Slitaz to the Internet?
Even after the 'x' sign went away, there was no connection.
Thanks!

We don't have exactly the same problem. If my browser went offline by accident or the particular site I'm trying to connect is not out, the problem for sure is that i do not have an Internet connection for some reason. In most cases the Internet connection drop after being working without any problem.
In my case the most common "problem" is that after the connection drop, the "display" still says "connected". It seems that when the program crash it doesn't redraw the screen to clear again erasing the old status, or do not iniatialize again from the start. That why I get all this display that do not correspond with the real situation that is going on. But I can get wireless Internet connection with Slitaz. In your case it sounds like you can not get Internet connection at all. There are new variations. of WPA coming out recently and others have some weir settings. Maybe Slitaz is not up to date on those. The only problem I have had so far was a few weeks ago in a WIFI connection in a hotel in Prague where I could not get a connection.
Maybe wireless management need some updating and check up.Posted 13 years ago # -
I can't get any connection at all with wlaO and Eth0. When I boot up it says that there is a connection - eth0, and I can see the movement of it in the bottom panel. Midori says no connection. Ping says the same.
Wln0 looks like it gets connected, and the 'x' sign goes off. There is more movement of the wireless in the bottom panel, but still Midori won't come up, and ping says no such address. Laptop shows the wireless light on.How can I get the network connected?
