No, no tuxes. It just gives a few lines about cache writethrough and then halts. When I turn off tazfbsplash it boots OK. I guess it is chainloaded, because when I put quiet in menu.lst the screen is black during boot (except some udev erros, when I try to automount ntfs partition with fstab, but that's another topic). And yes I did include "screen=text" before running tazfbsplash test.
